Free Mini-reviews (Part 3)

Part 3 of my annual free mini-reviews.

Here are part 1 and 2.

I haven’t seen any analytics or survey data for any of these websites, and all my comments are only based on my experience in the field. I’m only spending very little time on each site, so there’s going to be superficiality. Some of my feedback is going to be brilliant, and some of it won’t make any difference. All of this advice should be tested.

  1. Hi, Peep,

I thought I was the first to submit my website details on your blog (Half an hour after you posted about this) , however unfortunately my website is not in there.

You were actually #131. I’ve done reviews for the first 70 so far. I’ll get there eventually.

You were 141st to sign up. I’ll get to you eventually.

  2. Thanks a lot for the review. But i will keep the adsense ads (i make betwen 500 1000$ by month with theme)

  3. Hi Peep, thanks for your time and for the review. It really opened my mind to change some things around. I’ve never been a fan of the landing page or links to a million places either. I guess since every photographer and their mom is doing it photographers seem to want to do what others are doing.

Will definitely convince her to take that page down or just get rid of the facebook link.

  4. Is it just my impression, or do you seem to be getting increasingly aggravated as the videos go on (and the more sliders and stock photos you see?)

A lot of your comments are right in line with the 7 key takeaways you posted last year – guess those principles are pretty timeless. It’s also interesting to visit the sites you reviewed last year and see how many of them have actually made changes.

You might be right :) I should keep the vids under 30 min

  5. This is awesome, talking about going above and beyond… Nice work Peep.

  6. Hi Peep

Thanks again for doing this. I own the site ‘Things My Kids Ask Me’ in the list above, and have implemented your recommendations about the sign up here: – as you can see I now offer a free video to my subscribers.

If people watch your video above they can see the changes I’ve made – which have created a much more focused and rewarding offer for my readers – and hopefully a much better conversion prospect for me.

    Kind regards

    Loz :-)

  7. Greetings from California! I’m bored to death at work so I decided to check out your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the knowledge you provide here and can’t wait to take a
look when I get home. I’m shocked at how fast your blog loaded on my cell phone .. I’m not even
using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, good site!

  8. I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your website.
It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit
more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme?

    Excellent work!
